Xplor International Presents US Continuing Education Program by acadami

11 September - As part of the ongoing mission to provide industry training, Xplor International will be sponsoring acadami’s “Transaction Document Foundations” series of Continuing Education Unit (CEU) - certified courses in the USA. The courses qualify for education credits towards Xplor’s new Electronic Document Associate (EDA) designation.

Courses will be taught throughout the United States with the first course in the program (Transaction Document Production) conducted on Oct 13 – 14 at Roosevelt University in Schaumberg IL. A class calendar for 2009 – 2010 will be issued shortly.

The acadami curriculum was successfully piloted with Xplor Canada for over one year, and recently with Xplor UK & Ireland.  Over 150 students have already graduated from one or more of the acadami courses, and graduates have rated the classes 4.2 out of 5.

“Employers have been delighted with productivity and quality of work resulting from their employees’ training,” says Bill Broddy edp, acadami partner.  “The five-day curriculum is an excellent way for industry specialists to earn their EDA designation.”

The program will initially include three courses:

1. Transaction Document Production: a two-day class that provides comprehensive training on the production workflow from data to doorstep. Graduates will receive 2 CEUs, and the Xplor EDP Commission will recognize 20 Education Credits towards the 50 Credits required for Electronic Document Associate (EDA) and 100 required for Electronic Document Professional (EDP) certification.

2. Document Systems Lifecycle: a two-day that focuses on the roles and skills employed in business planning, product development, and operations management for a document application, system, or technology. Graduates will receive 2 CEUs and 20 Education Credits

3. Transaction Document Practices: a one day class that reviews the latest best practices for both transaction document production and the development / production lifecycle. In addition, acceptable (not current but of little risk) and bad practices (obsolete with significant risk) will be identified and discussed. Graduates will receive 1 CEU and 10 Education Credits.

Each class concludes with an exam, where students must correctly answer at least 85 percent of the multiple-choice questions to graduate.

The continuing education program as well as Electronic Document Associate (EDA) and Electronic Document Professional (EDP) certification programs are open to all industry document professionals. “As the economy recovers, it’s important for employers to both properly train their new staff and keep their existing staff up to speed,”  said Skip Henk edp, President and CEO of Xplor International. “We are impressed with the positive results in Canada and the UK, and are excited about delivering this program to the US market.”
